The Walking Liberty Half Dollar is a US silver coin worth half a dollar or 50 cents, minted from 1916 to 1947. Designed by Adolph Alexander Weinmann, the coin is named after its motif, the walking goddess of freedom, Lady Liberty .

In her left hand she holds an oak branch and an olive branch, while her right arm is stretched forward. In the background is a mountain with a rising sun. At the top is the inscription "LIBERTY" and at the bottom the year of minting. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and , until 1917, the mint mark are positioned to the right: a D for Denver and an S for San Francisco. If there is no mint mark, the coin was minted in Philadelphia.
